Recognition for teamwork

El Potrero Reserve was honored by Aves Argentinas and the Center for Applied Ecology of the Littoral (CECOAL / CONICET) for its commitment to the conservation of the saffron-cowled blackbird, receiving a beautiful painting illustrated by Belén Dri.
This recognition celebrates a decade of sustained work alongside the Guardians of Colonia del Tordo Amarillo.

The 2025 campaign came to an end with historic results in Entre Ríos:

83 nests monitored, 41 with protection systems
96 chicks banded
26 adults banded and 25 equipped with satellite transmitters, recording their movements to study the species throughout the year.

During December, from the El Potrero Reserve, we continued to collaborate with the Guardians in monitoring colonies and nests, banding and placing satellite transmitters on adult specimens, marking another step forward in the study and knowledge of the saffron-cowled blackbird and its conservation.

Thanks to this entire team of people who work with such passion and dedication to protect this species that is so emblematic of our grasslands.
