On November 19, El Potrero Reserve took part in the First Meeting of Protected Natural Areas of Entre Ríos, an event organized by the Secretariat of Environment and the Directorate of Protected Natural Areas of the province.
The event brought together representatives from public, private, and mixed protected areas that are part of the Provincial System, with the aim of strengthening the conservation network, promoting the exchange of experiences among managers, and advancing common strategies for the sustainable management of Entre Ríos’ natural and cultural heritage.
During the conference, key issues for the management of these areas were addressed, including:
– The functioning and objectives of the Provincial System of Protected Natural Areas.
– Biodiversity conservation, including wildlife monitoring and invasive alien species control actions.
– Sustainable production within protected areas.
– The implementation of the “Raíz Nativa” Green Seal.
– The role of responsible tourism and environmental education as awareness-raising tools.
– The meeting also included the presentation of outstanding management cases from different areas of the province and various thematic roundtables aimed at generating new proposals, perspectives, and coordination between the working teams. The day ended with the signing of shared commitments and a visit to the La Chinita Protected Natural Area.
For the El Potrero Reserve, participation in these spaces is essential to continue learning, collaborating, and building an increasingly solid and integrated conservation network in Entre Ríos. The organization is grateful for the invitation and celebrates opportunities that promote collective work for nature.
