5th SPARTAN COMMUNITY CONVENTION

From October 15 to 17, representatives from Club Central Entrerriano and Reserva El Potrero participated in the 5th Spartan Community Convention, which was held this year for the first time in Misiones, at the invitation of Tackleando Muros, an organization that has been part of the Spartan community since 2016.

The event spanned three days of meetings, training, and exchange with some 150 people from various Argentine provinces, as well as representatives from Chile and Uruguay. It was an opportunity to share experiences, review the work being done, and strengthen the bonds among those who, from different locations, support this project.

During the Convention, there were training sessions on communication and teamwork, workshops on problematic substance use led by specialists, and various activities focused on cooperation and reflection. Participants also visited Eldorado Correctional Facility No. 3, where workshops on spirituality, sports, and other activities were held.

One of the highlights was participation in the fifth edition of the City of Eldorado Cup, which brought together various teams from the Espartana Community and culminated in a post-game gathering with the family members of the incarcerated individuals.

The event also provided an opportunity to hear from “Pula,” captain of Las Yaguaretés, the Argentine women’s national rugby team, who joined the activities, shared her experiences, and played in a match alongside the women’s team.

Those who travel from Gualeguaychú to lead weekly training sessions at Penal Unit No. 9 include Agustín Barrere, Alfonso Casenave “Mataco,” Pablo Ciceri, and Ricardo Calot, along with Daniela Goette from La Reserva.
Their volunteer work, along with the ongoing support of Club Central Entrerriano and Reserva El Potrero, is part of a commitment that has been ongoing since 2019 and aims to use sports as a tool to foster inclusion, strengthen bonds, and open up new opportunities.

Because behind every training session there is time, commitment, and many people who choose to get involved so that this project can move forward.

Thank you to the Espartanos Foundation for supporting this initiative and creating these spaces for connection, and to everyone who makes it possible for the Espartano Community to continue growing.
